Elijah’s bath time has turned into the best part of my day lately, but that wasn’t the case just a few short months ago. As a working mommy its easy to get into a routine of the”wash and go”. I would literally have him stand (or sit) and I’d scrub and rinse three-four times, then out he goes. This way I could have him bathed, his teeth brushed, and have PJ’s on in under twenty minutes.
One of my goals this month was to find new ways to spend more one-on-one time with Elijah when we’re not filming. Now that I have more time with him, I wanted to create childhood memories that he’ll cherish for a lifetime.
After going on Pintrest for some fun bath time ideas, I decided to give some of them a try. Although I read over 100 different ways to liven up bath time lol, I narrowed it down to Elijah’s top four. I hope you all enjoy them as much as we did. Now lets dive in!
1. BRING ON THE WATERCOLORS
Bring out those watercolors momma bears and watch your toddlers paint their little hearts out. All you’ll need is the watercolor box and a paintbrush. Since the box already comes with a brush, It will only take about two-seconds to get them going. PSA! Avoid the black, brown, or any of the darker colors. They will stain the tub and it’s a pain scrubbing them out! Another great alternative would be Crayola bathtub markers. These markers are very inexpensive and they wash right off.
2. TOYS, TOYS, TOYS!
I’m sure everyones familiar with bath toys (the hundreds and thousands of them). So there’s no need to change something thats worked since the beginning of time lol. When it comes to my child, he usually has about FIFTY toy cars floating around.
3. BLOW SOME BUBBLES
Elijah loves to take bubble baths already, so I wanted to just add to his love for bubbles. I recently purchased this no spill bubble machine from target. It was very inexpensive, and its truly 100% spill proof (like for real lol). We even used it around the house, and It has yet to make a mess. Highly recommended.
4. MAKE IT GLOW
I found this idea on Pintrest a couple of months ago, and I just had to give it a try. Of course Elijah loved it! Now the only problem was getting him out of the tub lol. Just visit your local Dollar Store, Target, Walmart, or any store that sells glow sticks and drop it in the water. It’s also a fun way to learn colors. I usually freeze them after each use to retain the glow for next time.
Do you have tips or tricks for making bath time fun? Drop them in the comments below! I would love to read them. Also, let me know if any of the ideas listed above works for your little one. Thank you for stopping by!0
