Lately, I started doing this crazy thing…. I put my dreams, my happiness, my wants and needs FIRST for the first time in a while and it felt amazing! As women, we often find it really difficult to remember our own happiness in addition to everyone else’s. We give, give, give but forget to give to ourselves. After all, what good will you be to anyone if you’re not happy and fulfilled!
These past few months I have learned that it is perfectly OK to take some time for myself daily. One of my favorite things to do is sit in silence before the Lord in my prayer corner. There’s absolutely nothing like it! I find that I do my best thinking in pure silence, and allowing God to just speak to me.
I’m not saying ignore everyone else and think only of yourself all of the time. BUT I am saying that you need to give your desires, goals, and dreams priority as well. If you run around trying to make everyone happy without taking care of your own happiness too, you will suffer, and so will your dreams. Lack of time for yourself often leads to feeling frustrated, tired, overwhelmed and out of balance. So its safe to say that some ” ME ” time is a MUST!
Always remember that no matter what you do, there are only 24 hours in a day, so you can’t create more time. But you can clear some time by prioritizing your days and even your week in advance. I’m not talking about just going to the gym either lol. I am talking about getting out there and doing something daily that makes you happy and feeds your purpose in the process.
